BMW, Daimler and the Volkswagen group are being investigated over collusion on the development of car emission control systems. Russia has blamed Israel and threatened retaliation after one of its military planes was shot down by Syrian missiles in a “friendly-fire” incident. The British Chamber of Commerce has downgraded its near-term growth predictions for the UK economy, citing uncertainty around the country’s prospective departure from the EU.
