SOUTH KOREA WARNS NORTH KOREA OVER MISSILE LAUNCH- South Korea’s JCS says North Korea continues its illegal provocations

South Korea’s military says North Korea raised tensions in the Korean peninsula by launching ballistic missiles and that the North will take responsibility for all the consequences.

Deputy Chief of South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) public affairs, Nam Gi-su, said launching of the ballistic missile is seen as a clear violation to the United Nations Security Council resolution, further adding that the launch should be halted as they pose a threat by increasing tensions in the Korean Peninsula.

Earlier in the day, North Korea fired at least seven short-range ballistic missiles off its east coast, Japan’s defence minister said, soon after Pyongyang condemned military drills by its rivals and just hours before the U.S. election.

South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said the missiles were fired at around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday from the vicinity of Sariwon, North Hwanghae Province, South Korea’s JCS added. The latest launch follows North Korea’s test last week of a huge new solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) dubbed Hwasong-19.
