HEIDI ALEXANDER APPOINTED AS NEW TRANSPORT SECRETARY-Ms Alexander is a former deputy transport mayor
Heidi Alexander has been appointed the new transport Secretary on the heels of Louise Haigh’s resignation this morning.
Haigh wrote to the prime minister tendering her resignation as transport secretary after admitting to a conviction, which has now been spent, for making a false report to the police 10 years ago
Ms Alexander, who was elected as Swindon South’s MP in July’s general election, has been handed the role after serving as a minister in the Ministry of Justice.
Ms Alexander has previously served as the deputy transport mayor under sadiq Khan Between 2018 and 2021
