ISRAEL AND LEBANON AGREE TO CEASE FIRE DEAL-Netanyahu says he will establish security with God’s help and rehabilitate the north

Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a cease-fire, ending the raging conflict between fighting between Israel and the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah

The Israeli Cabinet approved the agreement late Tuesday following a speech by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu backing the deal.

Netanyahu said in the televised address that he would ensure that Gaza will no longer pose a threat to Israel, further adding that the residents of the north will be returned safely to their homes.

Netanyahu said a ceasefire is needed to focus on Iran, replenish depleted arms supplies and give the army a rest, and finally to isolate Hamas, the militant group that triggered war in the region when it launched an attack on Israel from Gaza last year.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said in the G7 meeting in Italy  that France and the United States has worked relentlessly to help achieve the ceasefire deal

Netanyahu, who said that “A good deal is a deal that is enforced, and we will enforce it,” further stated that  “With God’s help, we will establish security, we will rehabilitate the north and continue, united, until victory.”
