DOMINIC CUMMINGS AND LEE CAIN, TOP AIDES TO BORIS JOHNSON IN NUMBER 10 Are giving evidence today in the Covid Enquiry
The COVID inquiry is now resuming its evidence sessions, and is this week hearing from Boris Johnson’s former aides.
First up this morning is former Downing Street communications chief Lee Cain.
He will be questioned by lawyers about the government’s handling of the pandemic, and no doubt “partygate” will be a key part of his evidence.
Once Mr Cain has been questioned, Mr Johnson’s former chief adviser, Dominic Cummings, will face questioning. Mr Cummings is, of course, well known following his trip to Durham and Barnard Castle with his family while isolating with COVID during the early days of the pandemic.
He is expected to sharply criticise his former boss, as well as former health secretary Matt Hancock and others.
