BADENOCH SEEKS FOR NATIONAL INQUIRY INTO GROOMING GANGS-  Starmer argues that a national inquiry will ‘kill’ the Children’s Wellbeing Bill

Conservative Leader Kemi Badenoch called for a full national inquiry into grooming gangs at parliament on Wednesday, which if passed will necessitate an amendment to the Children’s Wellbeing Bill

Badenoch says the national inquiry is important as the problem is systemic. However Prime Minister Keir Starmer opposed the motion, arguing that the national inquiry will kill the bill, stopping provisions for children he claims are at risk.

Starmer stated that the bill will also provide protection for vulnerable children who are taken out of school, including home-schooled children, to prevent abuse.

The Prime Minister who called Badenoch’s quest for amendment to the Children’s wellbeing Bill a “shocking tactic”, has faced building criticism from Elon  Musk after Home Office minister Jess Phillips declined a request for a nationally led inquiry in Oldham.
