A police investigation into allegations of sexual and physical abuse by a doctor at a former psychiatric hospital for children has concluded there was sufficient evidence to interview him. More than 100 people who were child patients at Aston Hall, Derbyshire, in the 1960s and 1970s claim Dr Kenneth Milner gave them drugs which left them in a zombie-like state and unable to move.Dr Milner died in 1976, but a Derbyshire Police report has found that had he been alive, he would have been questioned over allegations of rape, indecent assault and child cruelty. A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder over the death of a baby girl whose body was found in woodland. The naked body of the newborn, who detectives called Pearl, was found on 4 April by a dog walker in Roch Valley Woods in Heywood, Greater Manchester.Police have arrested a 48-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman on suspicion of murder, concealing a birth and preventing a lawful burial.The suspects are believed to be the infant’s parents.Forensic examinations revealed the baby was born with a congenital heart defect, meaning two of her ribs were missing.Further inquiries…
Ryanair has threatened to cut 300 jobs among its Irish pilots and crews as a dispute over pay and conditions continues.
