Inflation fell to a seven-month low last month raising hopes there has been a “turning point” in Britain’s Brexit-linked cost-of-living squeeze. A toddler who died after being rescued from a car in a river has been called an “incredible happy young girl” who lived “a great adventurous fun life”. The accounting watchdog has launched an investigation into two former finance directors of collapsed construction and outsourcing giant Carillion.
