U.S ATTORNEY GENERAL NOMINEE CLEARS SENATE PANEL-Pam Bondi secured the votes with 12 against 10

The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee has advanced attorney general nominee Pam Bondi, paving the way for the full Senate to vote to confirm the former Florida attorney general as soon as this week.

The panel approved her nomination in a 12-10 vote with Democrats opposed amid concerns over whether Bondi will resist potentially improper or illegal orders from Trump

In her confirmation hearing earlier this month, Bondi pledged to end the weaponization of the justice system, adding that America will have one tier of justice for all.

Senate Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley, an Iowa Republican, said at the start of the committee meeting that Bondi’s record and testimony showed the American people that she will follow through and enforce the law fairly, without fear or favor.
