In your relationship with God, the state of your heart counts a great deal! The bible says, “But the Lord said to Samuel, do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16: 7).

David was a teenage boy who by his physical appearance didn’t in any way fit the description of someone who should be a King. Notwithstanding, he was God’s choice for the throne, not because his actions were perfect, but because he served God with a loyal heart, and not his physical looks. This was what God saw.

Being loyal is all about faithful to someone or to a cause. It means having a right attitude in anything you do. As a Christian, your attitude to God and service in His Kingdom should reflect your loyalty or faithfulness to Him. This is because you’re not living for yourself, but for Christ.

Therefore, examine yourself honestly today and be sure that your words match your actions and your actions match the thoughts of your heart in your service to God.Understand  that only the works you do with a sincere and loyal heart will be accepted when you stand before God to give Him an account of your life ( 1 Corinthians 3 :13).
