Liverpool’s star player, Mohamed Salah, is on track to return to Liverpool for rehabilitation following a muscle injury. However, there’s a possibility that he might fly back to the Africa Cup of Nations if Egypt advances to the tournament semi-finals.

In Salah’s absence, Jürgen Klopp’s team managed to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League by five points. Their 4-0 victory against Bournemouth, featuring two second-half goals each from Darwin Núñez and Diogo Jota, showcased the team’s resilience.

The injury occurred during Egypt’s 2-2 draw with Ghana, ruling Salah out of the final Group B match against Cape Verde and the subsequent last 16 and quarter-final matches if Egypt progresses. Klopp has clarified that the plan is for Salah to return from Ivory Coast to Liverpool to ensure he receives optimal medical treatment.
