The Global New Year’s Eve Service with Pastor Chris featured a special segment which is the Future Africa Leaders Awards 2021 (FALA). In its 9th edition, the distinct ceremony was in honor of outstanding young Africans who have displayed unprecedented levels of ingenuity and devotion towards improving the socio-economic state of their respective nations and the continent as a whole. This year ten nominees from thousands of entries made the final list but one will eventually emerge as the Star Prize Winner of the year.
The President and founder of the Future Africa Leaders Foundation, Reverend (Dr.) Chris Oyakhilome was filled with words of appreciation and praise for these elite young Africans who have dedicated their lives to offering solutions to the numerous problems plaguing our society. In his opening address, the President described the young leaders as talented, industrious, and valiant men and women who are setting the pace as leaders in their respective fields.
Three accomplished and well-respected African leaders were special guests at this year’s ceremony with the chairman of the occasion being the former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. In his speech President Obasanjo charged all Africans to be tellers of their own stories, projecting their own narratives. Positing that only Africans can make Africa great, the former President stated that Africa is heavily endowed with men of industry who can provide solutions to the challenges facing Africa.
Another former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GCFR) was also a guest of honor at the auspicious event. Taking the podium, Dr. Jonathan applauded the efforts of the young FALA awardees for their rare desire and skills in meeting the needs of their societies. He spurred them to remain steadfast in the faith, unwavering in love, and devoted to selfless service to humanity. Yet another guest of honor in this year’s occasion was the founder of ADDI and former African Union Ambassador to the US, Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao. In her resounding speech, she stirred the global audience to unite and create a free, fair, enviable, and just continent for all.
These reverberating speeches by the special guests galvanized unflinching synergies among many at the event, stirring in them the desire to make an impact in their respective countries and beyond.
Following the resounding speeches by the guests was the announcement of recipients of the Future Africa Leaders Awards for 2021. From Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, and other African countries, young African leaders who championed various innovative and humanitarian projects to better Africa were called out to receive their prestigious awards presented by LoveWorld President and founder of the Future Africa Leaders Foundation, Reverend (Dr.) Chris Oyakhilome. Each award was accompanied by a $10,000 cash prize. Congratulations to all 2021 FALA winners.
