Victorious Kenyan athletes have returned home to a hero’s welcome after they topped the medal table at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing for the first time. The team were received at Jomo Kenyatta airport in Nairobi by thousands of supporters, led by Deputy President William Ruto. Mr Ruto hosted a special breakfast to honour the team at his residence. Hundreds of migrants have been protesting outside a major railway station in the Hungarian capital after police sealed off the terminal to stop them travelling through the EU. Crowds of people chanted “Germany” and waved train tickets after being forced to leave Keleti station in Budapest. Officials said Hungary was trying to restore order and enforce EU rules. Debris found on the Indian Ocean island of Reunion is “very likely” to be from the missing flight MH370, an Australian official has said. Martin Dolan, who heads Australia’s search efforts, also said the operation was continuing “in the right place” in the southern part of the ocean. The US dentist who killed a lion in Zimbabwe should be extradited to face charges, Zimbabwe’s Environment Minister Oppah Muchinguri has said. Walter Palmer’s extradition was being sought so that he could “be held accountable for his illegal action,” she said.
