“You are from beneath; I am from above.” I’m the Jews were baffled when the Lord Jesus spoke these words to them in John 8:23. He was referring to His identity and origin. He wanted them to know He came down from heaven.He referred to himself as the living bread which came down from (John 6:51).
In addition to that, the Bible also lets us know He’s the Word of God made flesh ( John 1:1-10), showing us further that He was not of this earth but from above. And do you know what? If you’re born again, you’ve received this same life of Christ that’s from above the very life of God. You’re born of the Word ( 1 Peter 1:23). This means you’re from above just as Jesus is!
When you accept this truth, it will change everything about your life and give you a new mental attitude. You won’t think, talk or act the way the rest of the world does. The misfortunes and struggles the people of the world go through won’t be your lot because you’re from above, with the victorious life in you. You’re more than a conqueror! Therefore walk with the consciousness that you’re not of this world but from above.
