Foreign Minister Dominic Raab said that Britain is willing to work with the United States and European partners to build a broader initiative that would address not just Iran’s nuclear ambitions but its destabilising activity in the region.
Raab told parliament that the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) – commonly referred to as the Iran nuclear deal – remained the best available deal for restraining Tehran’s nuclear ambitions.
In a step that will increase diplomatic pressure, Britain, France and Germany launched a dispute mechanism to challenge Iran for breaching limits on its nuclear programme under an agreement that Washington abandoned in 2018.
