TODDLER SUSPENDED FROM NURSERY OVER TRANSPHOBIA ALLEGATIONS – 94 primary school pupils were suspended or expelled for transphobic or homophobic behavior in the 2022-23 academic year

A young child, aged three or four, was suspended from a nursery for alleged “abuse against sexual orientation and gender identity,” according to figures from the Department for Education.

The incident took place during the 2022-23 academic year at a state school. Data reveals that 94 primary school pupils were suspended or expelled for transphobic or homophobic behavior in the same year. This included ten Year 1 students, three Year 2 students (aged up to seven), and one nursery-aged child.

Helen Joyce, director of advocacy at Sex Matters, criticized the decision, stating: “This is an example of gender ideology taken to extremes. Projecting adult beliefs onto toddlers is utterly absurd.”

Across all state primary schools, the number of suspensions or expulsions for transphobia or homophobia rose from 164 in 2021-22 to 178 in 2022-23. Essex recorded the highest number of suspensions (16), followed by Birmingham (15), Bradford (11), and Norfolk (8).
