Britain’s Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made their first public outing together, following an announcement from Prince Harry and his wife Meghan that they would step back from senior roles in Britain’s royal family to spend more time in North America.

Prince William and his wife Kate were greeted by cheering crowds at Bradford City Hall, where they are expected to meet with young people from across the community.

Queen Elizabeth reluctantly agreed to her grandson and William’s younger brother, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan’s wish for a more independent future.

People in Bradford supported the choice of the couple, formally known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Harry and his American actress wife are due to begin a “period of transition” that will see them split their time between Britain and Canada.
