ORBAN CRACKDOWN ON FOREIGN FUNDING OF HUNGARIAN MEDIA – Orban says USAID spent millions to influence Hungarian media and organisations

Prime Minister Viktor Orban has stated that Hungary’s government will draft legislation to protect national sovereignty and, following the example of the new U.S. government, will uncover foreign funding channelled to Hungarian media to influence the citizens

Orban stated that the corruption network influencing the Western world of politics and media must be eliminated in Hungary, following President Trump’s example in the United States.

Orban, who stated that the USAID spent millions of Hungarian currency to influence Hungarian media and organisations, added that the government has appointed a commissioner for further investigations.

Orban, who flagged a crackdown on NGOs and media received funding from the Hungarian born billionaire George Soros, has affirmed that the government will close the money pipes of the Soros network, adding that 2025 will be Hungary’s year of economic as well as political breakthrough.”
