Ahead of a key meeting with Irish counterpart Leo Varadkar, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson met with mental health campaigner Ben West at Downing Street.

West handed Johnson a petition on mental health before being invited inside by the Prime Minister.

This comes ahead of Johnson’s meeting with Varadkar in a last-ditch attempt to revive a British proposal for a Brexit deal that the European Union said falls far short of what is needed for an orderly seperation.

Just three weeks before the United Kingdom is due to leave the world’s biggest trading bloc, it is still unclear on what terms it will leave or indeed whether it will become the first sovereign state to depart the European project.

Following his meeting with West, Johnson was seen leaving Downing Street in a car destined for the northwest of England.
