LE PEN ALLY CONDEMNS ‘TYRANT JUDGES’ IN PARLIAMENT- Bardella Says Le Pen Ban Is ‘political and partisan’

National Rally (RN) lawmakers today defended their leader Marine Le Pen during a National Assembly session.

National Rally lawmaker Jean-Philippe Tanguy in parliament said ‘There are tyrannies that lock up their opponents’. ‘There are now tyrant judges who execute the rule of law in public’, he said

The president of France’s National Rally (RN) party has described a court’s decision to ban Marine Le Pen from public office for five years, wrecking her hopes of becoming president in 2027, as “disproportionate, political and partisan”.

Jordan Bardella said the punishment for Le Pen’s conviction for embezzling European parliament funds would deprive millions of French voters of their democratic right to put her in the Elysée Palace.

Le Pen has said she will appeal against the ruling, which, if successful, would lead to a new trial that she hopes will overturn the conviction and public office ban in time to campaign for the presidency.

Bardella, 29, vocally communicated his loyalty to Le Pen in a speech a day after a Paris court pronounced a conviction on Le Pen.

U.S. President Donald Trump said Marine Le Pen’s conviction and resulting prohibition from running in the 2027 presidential election was a “very big deal.”
