What kind of attitude do you have? Are you a confident person? Or do you shy away from turbulent situations?
One of the most inspiring stories in the Bible is that of three Hebrew boys Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. The government of their day gave a decree that everyone must bow to an idol made in the image of the king. But these three guys refused to bow because they believed in the only true God. The king became furious and ordered that they should be thrown into a burning furnace if they wouldn’t bow. But Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego didn’t cry or beg for their lives; they weren’t afraid.
They were fully convinced that God would not let them down, and He didn’t because He sent His Holy Spirit to deliver them when they were thrown into the flaming furnace; the flames of fire did not hurt them because of their unflinching confidence in the Lord (Daniel 3:16-27 TLB). Glory to God!
They didn’t talk like victims. Their situation didn’t make them lose trust in the unfailing power of Almighty God to save them. Their story gives a picture of what the Christian attitude should be, and that’s the attitude of a victor. Therefore, irrespective of the circumstances that may come your way, you can never be disadvantaged, so long as you put forth the attitude of the victor that you are.
