There is a danger of a no-deal Brexit and Britain’s main opposition Labour Party will do everything it can to stop that from happening, its leader Jeremy Corbyn said.

After Prime Minister Theresa May announced last week that she was stepping down many of her would-be successors have said they wanted Brexit with or without a deal, rejecting another public vote.

Corbyn said he would back a new Brexit referendum about the terms of a deal struck with the European Union and not a repeat of the 2016 choice for Leave or Remain.

The Labour Party leader, who has previously said the option of a second referendum should be kept on the table, is under pressure to endorse one without qualification after Labour lost votes to the anti-Brexit Liberal Democrats in last week’s European Parliament election.
