Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that Britain and the European Union had agreed a “great” new Brexit deal and urged lawmakers to approve it at the weekend.
“We’ve got a great new deal that takes back control,” Johnson said in a tweet.
“Now parliament should get Brexit done on Saturday so we can move on to other priorities like the cost of living, the NHS, violent crime and our environment.”
European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker tweeted that the deal was “fair” and “balanced”.
“I recommend that EUCO endorses this deal,” he said.
So now the PM’s Attention moves to Parliament and the DUP Leader Eileen Foster, who has voiced objections to the deal. No one knows any details – apart from the various leaders, but one thing is certain, the next few days at Parliament are going to be interesting.
