There’s so much going on in the world today that could get you terrified. But in the midst of all that may be happening, you still have a reason to be cheerful and in high spirits. Why? It’s because you’ve been made an overcomer in this life. The Bible says in 1 John 4:4, “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” This means you can think and live above the world.
This was the message Jesus gave His disciples, He told them to cheer up when he spoke of the dreadful things that would take place at the end of time. The imminent experiences were enough to make them terrified, but they were comforted by His words. “Cheer up, I have overcome the world!” All they had to do was live in the overcoming power and victory of Jesus Christ.
So, regardless of what may be going on in the world right now, don’t get discouraged; rather, be encouraged and in high spirits, because Jesus has overcome the world, and He has given you the victory. He has made you more than a conqueror and has also given you the power to rule in this world and dominate its systems.
