Trump blasts Biden over Hamas attack on Israel during campaign rally
Former U.S. president Donald Trump blasted President Joe Biden during a campaign event saying “America’s enemies” were taking advantage of Biden’s administration.
Trump’s comments came as he was weighing in on the deadly attacks on Israel by Palestinian Hamas militants over the weekend that killed thousands.
The former president said the attacks were linked to Biden loosening Trump’s sanctions on Iran which allowed the country “to sell massive amounts of oil.” Iran backs groups in the Middle East region including Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
Trump praised his administration’s fight against Islamic State militants and vowed to “prevent World War Three” if re-elected. He also said the U.S. will support “Israel defeating, dismantling, and permanently destroying the terrorist group Hamas.”
According to opinion polls, the former president is the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination for the 2024 U.S. election.
