STARMER DENIES CLAIMS OF INCREASED ILLEGAL MIGRATION – During Labour Government Tenure

Prime Minister Keir Starmer has denied the claims of the opposition party alleging to an increase in illegal migration during his labour government tenure on Wednesday

Speaking during the weekly prime minister’s question session in parliament, the leader of the opposition Conservative Party Kemi Badenoch, said Starmer’s government had made it easier for migrants to enter the UK on small boats crossing the English Channel.

Starmer responded that a recent agreement with Germany was designed to do the opposite.

Countering the Prime Minister in a fiery exchange, Badenoch said Starmer supported criminals over the British people. The Prime Minister replied by pointing to his record as Director of Public Prosecutions, adding that he had  dedicated five years of his life to law enforcement and locking up criminals.

The British interior ministry said Germany earlier stated that it would close a legal loophole that enabled human traffickers to store the small boats they use to cross the English Channel, as part of a broader German-British deal to tackle people-smuggling.
