SOUTHPORT KILLER FACES TERRORISM CHARGES- Rudakubana will appear at Westminster Magistrates Court via video link
Axel Rudakubana, aged 18 from Lancashire who was charged with the murder of 3 girls in Southport, UK, has been further charged with a terrorist offence
Merseyside Police Chief Constable, Serena Kennedy, said Axel already faces three charges of murder, 10 charges of attempted murder and one charge of possession of a knife – all relating to the incident at Hart Street, Southport on 29 July 2024.
Kennedy further stated that the additional charges are the production of a biological toxin called ricin and the possession of a PDF file called ‘Military Studies in the Jihad Against the Tyrants, the Al Qaeda Training Manual’ likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing to commit an act of terrorism contrary to Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
The Chief constable recognised the support of the emergency services, the local authority, and Counter Terrorism Policing, adding that the support included forensics experts and digital investigators.
Kenedy who stated that the criminal proceedings against Axel Rudakubana are live and that he has a right to a fair trial, conveyed reassurance of the continuous partnership and commitment to the safety of our communities.
