RUSSIA BANS UK CABINET MEMBERS FROM THE COUNTRY-Chancellor Reeves, Deputy Prime Minister have been banned from Russia
Russia has banned several members of the UK Cabinet from entering the country. The Russian ministry said it’s putting members of the UK’s political and military establishment, as well as journalists, on its so-called “stop list”, accusing them of “anti-Russian activities”.
Chancellor Reeves, Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner and Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson are among several cabinet ministers who have been banned from entering Russia
This new development comes on the heels of the expulsion of a British diplomat from Russia who was accused of spying, which Downing Street denies.
The Russian security service reported that the diplomat had provided false information to enter the country, further adding that evidence had been established to prove that the diplomat was involved in “reconnaissance and subversive work that threatens the security of the Russian Federation”.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that it was forced to draw attention to the incessant aggressive anti-Russian rhetoric of the British authorities,” and “the illegitimate unilateral restrictions systematically introduced by London against Russia
