NATO SAYS CHINA ENABLING RUSSIA TO BUILD WEAPONS – Over 500,000 forces at high readiness in the alliance

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated during a press conference on Wednesday (July 10), that the 32 allies had collectively identified China as a decisive enabler of Russia’s war, calling it an important message.

Stoltenberg also reaffirmed NATO’s commitment to Ukraine joining its ranks. “This is a strong message from NATO allies that we genuinely want Ukraine to join, and we are working with Ukraine to make that happen,” he said.

Additionally, Stoltenberg highlighted historic increases in defence investment within the alliance, noting that 23 allies are now investing at least 2% of their GDP in defence, compared to just three allies meeting this percentage in 2014.

“And we now have over 500,000 forces at high readiness in the alliance”, he added.
