MOTSEPE CONGRATULATES MOROCCO ON CO-HOSTING 2030 WORLD CUP – The combined proposal from Morocco, Spain & Portugal will see the 2030 World Cup
CAF president Patrice Motsepe congratulated Morocco after the country was named as a co-host of the 2030 men’s soccer World Cup, joining with Spain and Portugal to host the 48 team tournament.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino made the announcement following a virtual extraordinary Congress, and also announced that Saudi Arabia will host the 2034 World Cup.
South Africa hosted the World Cup in 2010, becoming the first country in CAF, the Confederation of African Football, to host the event.
The combined proposal from Morocco, Spain and Portugal will see the 2030 World Cup take place across three continents and six nations, with Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay also hosting matches to celebrate the tournament’s centenary.
