LYON CLAIM 2-0 WIN AT BAYERN IN WOMEN’S CHAMPIONS LEAGUE – The French side took a two-goal advantage into the return leg on March 26
Olympique Lyonnais claimed a 2-0 win away to Bayern Munich in their Women’s Champions League quarter-final first-leg tie.
The record eight-time champions opened the scoring through Malawian Tabitha Chawinga before Lindsey Heaps almost doubled their lead going into the break but missed her first-half stoppage time penalty.
Heaps made up for her miss by setting up Haiti midfielder Melchie Dumornay, who put them 2-0 up in the 65th-minute as the French side took a two-goal advantage into the return leg on March 26.
