Sports Direct’s Mike Ashley is making another attempt to save parts of BHS, claiming there is still time to save thousands of jobs. The retail tycoon wrote to BHS administrators over the weekend regarding the collapsed high street chain – days after he admitted to MPs there are issues over his treatment of contract workers. It comes after administrators to BHS called time on trying to find a buyer earlier this month, resulting in the loss of up to 11,000 jobs and leaving behind a £571m pension black hole. The administrator Duff & Phelps has made no comment after receiving a Sports Direct email on Friday which showed an interest in BHS, but was not said to be a formal bid.Sports Direct was one of five parties which expressed an interest in BHS in May, but none of them were able to complete a deal.
