Britain struck a draft separation deal with the European Union after more than a year of talks, but opponents of the deal said they would vote the deal down in parliament.
The French government’s spokesman said that a Brexit agreement agreed by British and EU negotiators was an encouraging sign.
Cabinet ministers arrived at No 10 to read the documentation on the draft deal. The British cabinet met earlier to consider the draft withdrawal agreement.
PM May said her draft Brexit deal delivered on the outcome of a 2016 vote to leave the European Union, and that her government would never hold a second public vote on the subject.
