BOTMAN OUT FOR UP TO NINE MONTHS WITH ACL INJURY – Newcastle defender Sven Botman has been ruled out with a knee injury

Sven Botman has been ruled out of action for “six to nine months” after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in Newcastle’s 2-0 defeat at Manchester City in the FA Cup on Saturday. The Netherlands international will undergo surgery next week in another blow to Eddie Howe’s side. The Magpies are currently missing Nick Pope, Joelinton and Callum Wilson due to injuries.

Newcastle have been dealt a significant blow with the news that defender Sven Botman has been ruled out of action for “six to nine months” with a knee injury. The centre-back suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in Newcastle’s 2-0 defeat at Manchester City in the FA Cup on Saturday and will undergo surgery.

A club statement read: “Newcastle United defender Sven Botman will undergo surgery next week after suffering a knee injury against Manchester City.
