Kuwait has filed a lawsuit in a Swiss court seeking $1bn (£670m) in damages from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) over the suspension of its Olympic committee. But Kuwait says the IOC ban was imposed without proper investigation. It says it may not be allowed to take part in the Rio Olympics in August. “It’s totally unacceptable that Kuwait is treated in this unfair way and barred from international sports activities without any appropriate probe being conducted,” Information Minister…

In your relationship with God, the state of your heart counts a great deal! The bible says, “But the Lord said to Samuel, do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16: 7). David was a teenage boy who by his physical appearance didn’t in any way fit the description of someone who should be a King. Notwithstanding, he was God’s choice for the throne,…

There’s something the whole world longs for, and that’s lasting peace. Only Jesus can give it- no one else can! The events occurring in the world today prove that the safety and security promised by humans are temporal and can’t be relied upon. But the peace that Jesus brings you isn’t like that of the world. He said, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14: 27). Understand that these aren’t mere words of…

Britain’s largest banks are disproportionately closing branches in the lowest-income areas while expanding in wealthier ones, taking bricks-and-mortar services away from communities where they are arguably needed most, an analysis by Reuters shows. HSBC, Royal Bank of Scotland, Barclays and Lloyds Banking Group are among banks that have cut 600 branches from April 2015 to April 2016. More than 90 percent of the closures were in areas where the median household income is below the British average of 27,600 pounds, but the banks say they choose which branches to close on the basis of where they have the fewest customers…
