US President Donald Trump has fired the director of the FBI over his handling of the inquiry into Hillary Clinton’s emails, the administration says. The White House shocked Washington by announcing that James Comey “has been terminated and removed from office”. But Democrats said he was fired because the FBI was investigating alleged links between the Trump campaign and Russia. The move came as it emerged Mr Comey gave inaccurate information about Mrs Clinton’s emails to Congress last week. Mr Comey was addressing FBI agents in Los Angeles when, according to Politico and the New York Times, he learned he…
The Man of God, Pastor Chris declares concerning the Month of May, “…we are going to MEDITATE throughout this month.” “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8 KJV You’re going to take off on meditation because you’re going to have good success. If you meditate, it will cause you to do. No need to pray for God…
Theresa May will travel to Buckingham Palace today to mark the dissolution of Parliament and the official start of the election campaign. At one minute past midnight, MPs reverted to being members of the public and all business in the House came to an end. Since 2011’s Fixed Term Parliament Act, the Prime Minister no longer has to ask the monarch to trigger dissolution, so today’s visit is seen as a formality. There are now no MPs in the UK until the votes have been counted in the 650 seats being contested in the general election on 8 June. With…
The UK’s mobile 4G access varies wildly across the UK, with some of the biggest cities having the worst connections. Middlesbrough was the best city for 4G access with 83% availability and Bournemouth was the worst at just 68%, according to a report comparing 20 of the largest cities. London managed just 16th, above Nottingham, Cardiff, Southampton and Bournemouth. Glasgow and Edinburgh were 9th and 10th respectively. The average 4G availability across the UK is 65%, which means that users have access to 4G less than two-thirds of the time. This puts the UK’s coverage at 54th in the world,…
Cristiano Ronaldo scored another European hat-trick as Real Madrid beat Atletico 3-0 in their Champions League semi-final, first leg clash on Tuesday. The Portugal international has now netted back-to-back trebles in the competition after also doing so against Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals and put himself on level terms with Barcelona’s Lionel Messi for Champions League hat-tricks (7). Ronaldo wasted no time in putting the home side ahead, nodding home in the ninth minute from a Casemiro cross and produced a fantastic finish in the 73rd minute to double Real’s lead. He rounded off a fine evening for himself and…
Activity in the UK’s manufacturing sector grew at its fastest pace for three years in April, according to a closely-watched survey. The Markit/CIPS UK manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) rose to 57.3 from 54.2 in March, well above economists’ expectations. A reading above 50 indicates growth. Markit said the sector enjoyed “solid improvement” last month, with new orders being received at the fastest rate since January 2014. The survey found the main source of new work came from the domestic market, but there was a “solid increase in new export business” due to a combination of better global economic conditions…
A US anti-missile defence system deployed in South Korea is now operational and can defend against North Korean missiles, Seoul has said. The Terminal High Altitude Area Defence interceptor system (THAAD) has “early capability” to respond to North Korea’s nuclear and missile threat, a Defence Ministry spokesman said. South Korean officials, however, told the Reuters news agency it would not be fully operational for some months. The system, set up at a converted golf course in Seongju, in the country’s southeast, has sparked controversy. China sees the system as a threat, and experts have debated whether its security benefits would…

Theresa May is to hold her first major showdown with Brussels chiefs since calling a General Election in a bid to strengthen her hand in Brexit negotiations. The Prime Minister will hold talks at Downing Street with European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker and the EU’s chief Brexit negotiator, Michel Barnier. Demands from Brussels for a £50bn Brexit divorce bill and the threat of a Spanish veto on the future of Gibraltar are set to dominate what are certain to be tense discussions. Mrs May is hosting a working dinner in No 10, during what EU officials describe as a “flying…
Taxi-hailing app Uber has announced plans to introduce a flying taxi service in just three year’s time. Uber Elevate would feature electric vehicles capable of vertical take-off and landing, with app users able to book a ride at the push of a mobile phone button. Teaming up with aircraft manufacturers as well as an electric car charger firm, the service would initially launch in Dallas and Dubai by 2020. Uber’s chief product officer Jeff Holden said: “Urban Aviation is a natural next step for Uber in this pursuit, which is why we are working to make ‘push a button, get…
