As Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan prepares to deliver yet another appeal this week to the world to address the plight of Kashmir. Britain’s parliamentary speaker of the House John Bercow told MP’s to stop treating each other as enemies after a day when several criticised the rhetoric of Prime Minister Boris Johnson for deepening division in the country. Brexit has illustrated a United Kingdom divided about much more than the European Union, and has fuelled soul-searching about everything from secession and immigration to capitalism, empire and modern Britishness. The rage and ferocity of the Brexit debate has shocked allies of a country that has for over a century touted itself as a confident – and mostly tolerant – pillar of Western economic…

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson came under fire from opposition MP’s, with several taking aim at his choice of language. The Labour Party’s Paula Sherriff told Johnson that “offensive, dangerous and inflammatory language” he has repeatedly used is being repeated in death threats targeting MP’s. Liberal Democrat leader Jo Swinson also said the prime minister “was not serious” and should have the “humility to say sorry” after the Supreme Court ruled…

Corbyn said his priority was averting a no-deal Brexit with legislation and only when that was clear would he be ready to trigger a vote of no confidence. He said he would be happy to have an election once no-deal Brexit had been averted. He also said PM Johnson should apologize to Queen Elizabeth and to the British people after the Supreme Court ruled he had…

The UK Supreme Court ruled that Boris Johnson’s decision to shut down parliament in the run-up to Brexit was unlawful, but a defiant prime minister said he disagreed and vowed that Britain would leave the EU by Oct. 31, come what may. The stinging judgment by all 11 of the court’s sitting justices undermines Johnson’s already fragile grip on power and gives legislators more scope to try to stop him taking Britain out of the bloc next month, with or without a divorce deal. The speaker of the House of Commons said it would reconvene at 11:30 a.m. (1030 GMT)…

LONDON (Reuters) – The United Kingdom’s Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday that Prime Minister Boris Johnson acted unlawfully when he advised Queen Elizabeth to suspend parliament just weeks before Brexit and that therefore the legislature had not been prorogued.
