TAIWAN CALLS ON CHINA TO STOP ALL ‘PROVOCATIVE ACTS’- China’s government says it will take necessary measures to defend the country’s sovereignty
Taiwan’s presidential office called for China to stop all “provocative acts”, saying ongoing Chinese military activity was a “blatant disruption” of the status quo of security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
On Tuesday, Taiwan’s defence ministry said China was deploying its largest navy fleet in regional waters in nearly three decades, posing a threat to Taiwan that is more pronounced than previous Chinese war games.
Beijing’s military has yet to comment on the military activity and has not confirmed it is carrying out exercises.
China’s government said it takes “necessary measures” to defend the country’s sovereignty and will not tolerate “separatist” activities.
