VAN NISTELROOY SET BE NAMED LEICESTER CITY HEAD COACH – The former striker was let go as an assistant coach by Manchester United
Ruud van Nistelrooy is set to be named the new Leicester City head coach according to media reports.
The 48-year-old former Dutch striker was let go as an assistant coach by Manchester United earlier this month after serving as interim coach in the four matches between Erik ten Hag’s sacking and Ruben Amorim’s arrival as the club’s next permanent boss.
Two of the matches van Nistelrooy presided over came against Leicester – a 5-2 Carabao cup win and a 3-0 victory in the Premier League.
The foxes announced the sacking of Steve Cooper on Sunday after a winless run left them hovering two points above the relegation zone.
